The 22nd Annual Mariachi Festival will be held at the 40-year-old landmark, Mariachi Plaza, in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. It is regarded as El Garibaldi de Los Angeles. Local mariachi groups will perform during the day-long program with Mariachi Sol de Mexico headlining the event. The Mariachi Plaza Metro station is located adjacent to the spectacular kiosko presented to the City of Los Angeles by the State of Jalisco, Mexico in 1998. The event is free and public transportation is encouraged by taking the Metro Gold Line.
